NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia is the political and policy leader of the pro-choice movement in Virginia. We work on the state level to develop and sustain a constituency that uses the political process in Virginia to guarantee every woman the right to make personal decisions regarding the full range of reproductive choices, including preventing unintended pregnancy, bearing healthy children, and choosing legal abortion. The right to choose is about more than a woman’s ability to have a safe, legal abortion. Reproductive freedom and self-determination encompass a range of issues, including: preventing unintended pregnancy and protecting reproductive health through effective sex education and access to family planning and birth control; defending a woman’s right to make personal, private decisions about whether or not to carry a pregnancy to term without government interference; protecting women’s ability to have healthy pregnancies and births and their right to parent their children or choose adoption; and addressing inequities in reproductive health care access. NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia has helped to create and defend a “right” by substituting the word “choice” for “kill.” Thus, NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia provides Virginia voters a voter guide with a murderous focus. Note that NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia also provides 2010-2013 legislative scorecards. That includes scoring legislation that forces the citizens of Virginia to assist in funding other people’s abortions, HB 62 – Abortion funding; repealed (from the 2012 session of the General Assembly, for example. Apparently, NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia does not think it sufficient to defend a woman’s right to kill her unborn child. Everyone else has to be forced to condone baby killing by being forced to pay for abortions.
