Applying to Vote Absentee

For the 45 days prior to all elections, voters eligible to vote absentee may do so by visiting one of our Absentee Voting locations. Before you come in, we advise you to check your registration status online or call us if you have any questions about your registration or your eligibility.
At the registrar’s office, fill out an Absentee Application. You must show an acceptable form of photo ID.
After completing the application, you will be allowed to vote absentee in-person using a voting machine in the registrar’s office. Accessible equipment and/or curbside voting is available upon request.
The last day to vote absentee in person is the Saturday before Election Day.
You can go to the Online Citizen Portal to request a Ballot by mail.
Return the completed form to our office (9250 Lee Ave Suite 1, Manassas, VA 20110). Applications for mailed ballots must be received by 5 p.m. on the 7th day preceding the election.
After the registrar processes your application, you will receive your ballot in the mail.
Carefully review the instructions to complete and return your ballot by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.
Ballots will be mailed after September 21, 2018
You can also use the State Board of Elections’ Citizen Portal to apply to vote absentee or to check the status of your application.
Applications for mailed ballots must be received by 5 p.m. on the 7th day preceding the election.
Voters who qualify and would prefer can use the Annual Application.
