Virginia Tech’s Burruss Hall (from here)
Heard about this today on WMAL’s Larry O’Conner Show. Since it is a sign of what parents should expect when they send their children off to college, it seems highly appropriate for a website like this one to share.
What is it about? It is about a proud mom attending college orientation with her son, My Son’s Freshman Orientation At Virginia Tech Was Full Of Leftist Propaganda by Peggy Nance. Here is how it starts.
Are taxpayers funding academic institutions to indoctrinate our kids? That disturbing and irresistible question plagued me during the long drive home last week from college orientation. I doubt I am alone in this wake-up call.
Like many other women, I just sent my youngest child to college. I am so proud of him and his decision to join the Army ROTC and study engineering. He will be attending a revered Virginia institution known for its military Corps of Cadets program. (continued here)
Why are a bunch of people we don’t want teaching our children running our schools, colleges, universities? That is not complicated to explain. Instead of paying the entire cost of our children’s education, we decided to raid the public treasury and get some of that government money. When we did that, we put politicians in charge. Because politicians spend the money, they make all the decisions, and politicians cannot be trusted.
When we spend our own money, we “cast a vote”. For example, car makers compete to satisfy their customers. That is us because we spend the money they want. Because we control the spending and vote with our dollars, car makers make cars we want to buy. When we “give” our money to politicians to spend, special interests will tempt them by casting their “votes” with legal bribes, campaign donations. When “money talks” people listen. Thus, special interests get the schools, colleges, and universities they want, not the schools, colleges, and universities parents want for their children.
