Richmond has kept busy with undoing laws that protect the Constitution, sanctity of life, family, parental rights and positive moral values. Its latest ploy is to introduce a bill (HB177) called “The National Popular Vote Compact” (see Virginia Democrats advance bill to join National Popular Vote compact (washingtontimes.com/)
The Compact is an agreement among states that have joined together to award their Electoral College votes to the candidate who wins the national popular vote. Remember that in 2016 Hillary Clinton won the popular vote, while Donald Trump won the electoral college vote.
In essence, the Compact is a way for dissenters to go around the Constitution without bringing such an issue before the people for a vote. Our power as voters is being usurped by the very legislators we voted into office a few short months ago!
Folks, we are in the throes of making history of the worst kind. Someday our children will point back to this time in our nation’s history as the final takedown of our republic—unless we contact our Delegates in Richmond and voice our disapproval loudly. They’ll vote on the measure soon, so go to Who is my legislator and let your voice be heard by your Delegate today! Once it’s too late, it’s too late to go back!! The fate of our republic is at stake!
