Correction to text below: The state is not revising the sex ed curriculum. Virginia will be revising transgender accommodations in schools.

Parents in Virginia need to know that the state board of education in Richmond is at work preparing the sex ed curriculum for all public schools beginning in the fall, 2021. Be aware of trends: New Jersey just added ‘anal sex’ to its learning standards for eighth graders. That being the case, Virginia well may add the same standard to its curriculum, too.

Lawmakers in Richmond last winter made sure that the sex ed curriculum includes all manner of sexual material when they handed their mandate to the board of education. That includes the accommodation of transgender (TG) students in using restrooms, shower and dressing rooms of their identified gender. For example, girls will have biological males using their facilities regardless of modesty.

In addition, TG students will dress as they gender-identify and be called by their chosen name and pronouns. If I tell you I am an elm tree, will you call me Elm and rake my leaves? Yet, this sort of thinking is being encouraged by our education system and to not observe it will be penalized.

According to Cathy Ruse (Garden State Gradeschoolers Learn Trans Advocacy in Sex Ed (frc.org)), guidelines for school sex ed curricula are modeled after the National Sexuality Education Standards developed by SIECUS (Sexuality Information and Education Council of the U.S.). SIECUS, Planned Parenthood, the Southern Poverty Law Center and the Human Rights Campaign have teamed together to radically transform sex education across the United States.

Ruse cites several web sites that reveal the underlying agenda for those groups being so ardent in pushing radial sex ed: Social Change! By sexualizing our children, they will promote “sexual rights” and radical sexual ideology for our youth. In plain words, they will contaminate our kids, your children, and steal their innocence and childhood. Our moral fiber will be so weakened that communism clothed as socialism can dominate our country!

The Bible is careful to show that the only place for sex is within the confines of marriage between a man and a woman. Any other practice of sex is condemned as unholy and a sin. Sexualizing youth is just one more way extremists are destroying God’s place in our society. It’s another means of persecuting Christian believers and extruding us from our culture, making us pariahs. They are stealing parents’ rights to teach their children about the real meaning of marriage, children and God’s place in their lives.

Starting in the fall of 2021, Family Life Education (FLE) modules will be impregnated with all forms of sexuality presented as being normal behavior. Parents will need to read the curriculum content when it becomes available on-line, so you can opt your kids out of those classes if you wish. But you will have to take that initiative.

Family Research Council (FRC) has created a Universal Opt-Out Letter (Sample Universal Opt-Out Letter) parents can download and print. Sign and send a copy to each of your children’s schools every year to prevent your child’s exposure to the filth that will be dished out in FLE classes. Take the lead and do it. Tell your friends. Print extra copies and distribute them among families in your neighborhood and/or congregation. Think what you can achieve if you help exempt so many children from those classes that there’s no sense in holding them at all! It’s time we go on the offensive against what we find offensive!
