Is Freedom Of Religion The Primary Issue Of The 2020 Election?

What is the crucial issue in the 2020 election? Freedom of religion? Perhaps. Does that sound absurd? Are people actually trying to suppress religious freedom? Sadly, the answer is yes. Consider Virginia Forces Christian Ministries to Adopt ‘Government Ideology’ or Pay $100K (pjmedia.com).

Three Christian schools and a Christian network of pregnancy centers are suing Attorney General Mark Herring (D-Va.) in order to prevent Virginia from implementing two pro-LGBT laws that force “people of faith to adopt a particular government ideology under threat of punishment.” The two laws purport to prevent “discrimination” against LGBT people but, in reality, they force Christian ministries to choose between violating their sincerely held religious beliefs or paying hefty fines, as much as $100,000 per offense. How did we get to this point? How did we get to the point where a country that clearly had a Christian heritage now risks rapidly losing that heritage? Well, there is nothing wrong with a secular government, that is, a government that is not allowed to foist the religious beliefs of one group upon another. However, that is not what we have any more. Instead, modern Pagans, pretending to a belief in “science”, use their feelings about “science” as an excuse to foist their beliefs upon everyone else.

How did these Pagans gain the power to force their beliefs upon others? In addition to secularizing our government, we secularized our education system. Most children now grow up never reading the Bible, never understanding the tenets of the Christian faith. Yet, amazingly, many think they “know” the Bible.

What are the ramifications of such ignorance? Consider Romans 1:18-32. Take the time to contemplate various translations of this passage (this one, Romans 1:18-32, for example). Then reflect upon the significance of fact that many so-called Christians never take the time to read the Bible or teach the Bible to their children. If our natural tendency is to suppress the truth of God and the cure is Jesus, what happens if we don’t teach our children about Jesus? Don’t they become Pagans by default?

What are the differences between Christian and Pagan values? Read Romans 1:18-32 again. Then consider how America has changed. We could talk about tens of millions of aborted children, but here is a simple, more mundane example. Today is what we use to call Columbus Day. Once we celebrated the bravery of explorers who ventured into unknown seas on small, wooden ships. Now, ridden with false guilt for the sins of people now long dead, some seek forgiveness by condemning the explorers and calling today Indigenous Peoples’ Day. Yet in spite of their hatred of the explorers — even their self hatred — these guilt ridden souls never find forgiveness. Instead, they continue their slide into self loathing and self destruction.
