YOU STILL HAVE A VOICE FOR THE VOICELESS!

Newborn on scale (from here)

Regardless of what is going on in Washington and Richmond, conservatives and believers in God and Jesus must stick together to wage war against moral wrongs and the corruption of our values. One of these is abortion. We cannot give up the fight now to right this abominable wrong!

There’s a bright note coming out of Kentucky! During all the unrest in DC last week, the KY senators voted 30-5 to send a bill to Governor Beshear’s desk. The bill gives the state’s attorney general new powers to regulate state abortion centers (Kentucky Rings in the New Year with Life (frc.org)). If the governor vetoes the bill, there is enough time for the legislators to override a veto. The state’s born-alive abortion survivors bill also passed over the weekend with the same promise of becoming law!

Closer to home, the 2021 Virginia General Assembly session begins Wednesday, January 13 with two bills that would expand abortion coverage:

HB 1896 would allow coverage of abortion on demand in health insurance plans in Virginia’s health exchange that is funded by tax payers. Many low- and middle-income families use the exchange to provide healthcare for themselves and their families.

HB 1922 would expand abortion, sterilization and contraception coverage in Virginia’s Medicaid program. It would also require this coverage in private health benefit plans.

Please tell your Delegate that you do not want your tax dollars used to fund abortion on demand. Voice your concern as soon as possible.

The Family Foundation is quite certain two bills will be reintroduced this year in Richmond (Victoria.Cobb@FamilyFoundation.org, Action Alert, Left Aiming to Enshrine Abortion into State Constitution, January 7, 2021). The first seeks to amend the Virginia Constitution to allow abortions up to the moment of birth and open the door for taxpayer-funded abortions. The second bill could propose legislation to eliminate parental consent before a minor seeks to have an abortion! Let your senators know you’re against both possibilities!

You still have a voice that will have volume and impact when added to the chorus of other conservatives. So, get busy and contact your legislators in Richmond TODAY!!! Tell them you don’t want your tax dollars funding abortion!
