Have you observed this? We live in the midst of a Pagan revival, but modern Pagans don’t think of themselves as Pagans. Many fool themselves by calling themselves Atheists, but everyone believes in something.
What is the source of confusion? The mass media has identified the revival of Paganism by many other names: Post Christian, New Age (American Hinduism?), Marxism, the Nones, Human Secularism, Atheism, and so forth. Yet modern Pagans worship what Pagans have always adored: all the stuff we can acquire; pleasure, especially sex; knowledge, “science” that excuses our behavior; a powerful state that gives us whatever they want; and our self, that fellow that looks back at us in our precious mirrors. The One True God we refuse to acknowledge (See Romans 1:18-32 NASB – Unbelief and Its Consequences – For the – Bible Gateway).
Us? Yeah. Even those of us who claim to be Christians still nurse a streak of Paganism within our souls. Not one of us completely loves and obeys God.
Let’s consider several recent examples.
Pornography In The Public Schools
What is the most terrifying way this Pagan revival is being manifested? Pagans have set themselves to the task of corrupting our children. In our area, Fairfax County seems to be leading the way. Consider what they insist in putting into our school libraries.
FALLS CHURCH, Va. – Parents gathered outside the Fairfax County School Board meeting on Thursday, voicing their opposition to what they term pedophilia and “porn in schools” after Fairfax County Public Schools reintroduced two books containing depictions of sexual activity.
“They’ve doubled down on porn in the schools. They’ve all got to go,” Stacy Langton, the Fairfax County mother who confronted the school board with images from the books in September, told Fox News. “Who’s in favor of porn in the schools?”

What is both hilarious and startling about this story is that the Fairfax County Public Schools have put these books back into school libraries after insisting that they don’t contain pornography. That decision is at odds with the words of school board members. Check the video at Va. Mom Confronts Ed Board, Reading Schools’ Gay Porn (Language Advisory): Do Better FCPS | RealClearInvestigations. This video where the ruckus over those two books containing depictions of sexual activity started. Watch that short little video, and then try to figure out how those two books are fit for a school library, but unfit for the school board
Library Holiday Theme Display?
Unfortunately, the controversy over porn in school libraries probably won’t end soon. Apparently, some equate pedophilia with sacred literature.
A Northern Virginia public library removed a holiday-themed display this week that featured the Bible alongside two sexually explicit books at the center of a furious debate between school officials and parents who see the material as inappropriate for children.
The glass-enclosed display at McLean’s Dolley Madison Library included a copy of the Bible and copies of “Lawn Boy” by Jonathan Evison and “Gender Queer: A Memoir” by Maia Kobabe.
The two controversial books are available to students in Fairfax County Public Schools. Their graphic depictions of fellatio and other sexual acts involving children have created a furor. One of the books includes an image of a man masturbating a boy.
Librarians at Dolley Madison declined to comment, and the Fairfax County Public Library system said it would take no questions about the display.

The Sacred Mask
Here we have an example from our very own Prince William County Schools, a mask mandate. What’s the story?
Parents once again demanded an end to a mask mandate in Prince William County Public Schools.
During a regular county School Board meeting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 1, parents urged elected leaders and school division chief Dr. Latanya McDade to rescind a mask mandate that’s been in n place since August, the beginning of the current school year.
Making masks optional for students was the standard message parents aimed to get across. “Let those who want to wear them, and there should always be a choice,” said Kimberly Stewart.

Why is the sacred mask mandate needed? The Christian worldview assumes that God created the universe, that the universe follows certain rules, and miracles are the rare exception. Christians believe science involves the discovery of the rules God established for Creation. The Pagan worldview does not assume the logical design of a Creator God. That raises a puzzling question. What do Pagans mean by “following the science”? Without a Creator, must we follow the random dictates of the modern holy men (experts) or charismatic leaders? Too often, experts and leaders promote superstition instead of science. Instead of explaining the science, they demand we believe them because they are The Expert or The Dear Leader.
Scientists have actually measured the size of viruses. So, we know how small they are. However, it can get more complicated than just using a mask designed to filter out virus size particles. For example, after someone coughs or sneezes, the viruses that person may be spreading will probably be in water droplets. So, we have to ascertain how long a virus survives after those water droplets dry up. Otherwise, don’t know what kind of mask is needed to stop any particular virus.
In addition, there is this thing we call mask discipline. Even if we use an appropriate mask, we still have to use that mask properly, or it does no good. When even medical person find it difficult to maintain mask discipline, we have to wonder how well untrained adults and children can be taught to use a mask.
So, how are we deciding whether it does any good to use masks to stop COVID-19 in the public schools? Is our school board applying science or superstition? Do we have reliable studies that show masks actually work in practice? If masks work, why don’t they work? Why is COVID-19 still spreading where we have mask mandates?
Conclusion
News stories like the ones above suggest is how strong the Pagan Revival has become. How should Christians confront this Pagan revival? What does the Bible say?
Matthew 28:16-20 New American Standard Bible
But the eleven disciples proceeded to Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had designated to them. And when they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some were doubtful. And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to follow all that I commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
How do we make disciples? One way is to raise our children as Christians. Another way is set a good example, a Christian example, for our neighbors. We love our neighbors. That includes helping them when we can. Helping our neighbors involves many things. Doing our best to make certain our government works properly is one of those things.
Look at our public schools. Are these government-run schools working properly? What can we do to make certain that our schools do work?

“Many fool themselves by calling themselves Atheists, but everyone believes in something.”
That is a very broad sentence Tom. Considering you believe in a creator and the majority of atheists believe in the scientific explanation for life is quite a simple difference really. Condemning atheists as Pagans, sex maniacs or self worshippers is a bit of an attempt to insult us, but when you consider that atheists do just as much good as any theists have done on this planet you have no case. In fact it is quite clear, the predominately atheist scientific community of wealthy nations has designed everything you use in your normal daily schedule and advanced the technology to keep billions of people alive with medicines and hospitals etc. The down side is of course are weapons of mass destruction, conventional weapons and poisonous gases etc that is a consequence of human nature.

I stand by what I said.

In my opinion, stop trying to reason with pagan secular beliefs school boards.
Find and vote for legislators to support school vouchers.
Or as King Solomon observed 3000 years ago.
Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you yourself will be just like him. (Proverb 26:4)
Sadly, because it is our children and grandchildren future at stake, we are wasting by doing nothing but arguing with the same pagan fools in our contemporary times same as in ancient times.
History has recorded the same follies when we do nothing and allow them to influence our children to trust in them instead of God.

Tom,
Michael Wilson’s post contained a phrase we do nothinger’s should consider in my opinion.:

“everyone believes in something.” Vague.
“Everyone believes in something” is a common observation. We all know what it means. We all give our lives to something. So, if that is your best criticism, it isn’t much.
